The Eco- Schools Programme aims to make environmental awareness and action an intrinsic part of school life and is the world's leading environmental education programme.
Eco-Schools is operated by TIDY Northern Ireland, an environmental charity dedicated to making Northern Ireland a cleaner and more pleasant place in which to live.
The Eco-Schools Programme is supported by the Department of the Environment and is Sponsored by Airtricity. Through Eco- Schools we aim to educate children on reducing their environmental impact and moving towards a more sustainable society.
Once registered on the programme schools work through a simple seven-step approach resulting in the programme becoming central to the school's ethos. Schools can choose from ten eco-topics ranging from litter and waste to energy, biodiversity and transport to name a few. Eco-Schools work towards achieving awards - bronze, silver and the prestigious green flag.

1. They have now completed a follow-up review on our initial Environmental Review which was completed by last years committee.
2.They have identified a way forward and will soon be running a competition to design our new Eco- Code.
More information will follow on this and other issues in the coming weeks.
